What is the TPDCo Team Jamaica Training Programme?

Team Jamaica, the flagship training programme for TPDCo is a movement for quality service improvement which seeks to provide tourism personnel and by extension all Jamaicans, with knowledge, interpersonal skill and attitude for the delivery of quality service.

All persons employed in the tourism industry (expatriates included)
All Jamaicans living in Jamaica or overseas

Tourism Awareness; Jamaica’s Local Attractions; Customer Service; Self Development; Trafficking in Persons Awareness; Visitor Safety & Experience; HIV/AIDS Sensitization; Jamaica’s History and Culture; Geography of Jamaica and Environmental Awareness

Twenty-eight (28) interactive contact hours, usually at least 4 hours per day

Yes, the programme is conducted in-person and online. We aim to suit the needs of our clients.

TPDCo’s Tourism Training Unit conducts in-house Team Jamaica programmes specifically for groups
Approved Training Partners(ATPs) conduct the Team Jamaica programmes island wide, on TPDCo’s behalf. These ATPs cater to the needs of any individual desirous of becoming Team Jamaica trained and certified. These programmes are conducted according to the TPDCo established standards and monitored by TPDCo Training Officers. Successful participants are certified through TPDCo

A group rate for properties/entities
An individual rate which is determined by the Approved Training Partners (between $12000 and $15000 per person)

Level 2 – Supervisors
Level 3 – Managers and Executives
The Team Member programme covers the foundation modules of the programme. After completing the Team Member with the foundation modules, the Supervisory and Management Levels will now focus on Tourism Management, Customer Service Management, Leadership, Motivating your Employees, Setting Performance Standards, Labour Relations Code
